On progressing, and not progressing...

On progressing:

We found out that Tyler got his number one pick for an ER residency in, Springfield Massachusetts. We are very excited to have this opportunity, it will be a great education for him and a new experience for us all. It will be hard to be that far away from everyone, but we are ready for an adventure, and hopefully some visitors! We are looking in areas around the city of Springfield to live, if you are curious I believe they all have websites, Agawam, Northhampton, and Enfield Connecticut, right now Enfield is at the top of the list.

On not progressing:

This baby, like my others, seems completely content with staying inside nice and cozy, so, no early delivery here. I am still hoping that any day she will decide to come out and play with her eager sisters. Tyler doesn’t mind the extra vacuuming I have been doing- however- my feet are quite tired of being swollen past recognition, even Ivy comes up to me, pats my belly, looks down and says, “Momma, your feet SWOLLEN”, with as much surprise and sympathy as she can muster. I will keep everyone posted.

On a fun note....

The girls have been playing so well together lately and I love it. My sister and I remember wanting mainstream toys when we were little. This wasn’t really my Mom’s thing, she would get us all sorts of “different” toys, some I think were to save money, and some just because she liked them. We had retro and homemade barbie clothes, nesting dolls and random German, British, and wooden toys.

Anyway, my Mom recently gave my girls some of the antique costume jewelry that Amy and I used to play with, (because we couldn’t use the plastic stuff from a toy store or grocery store), and I have to say, she was onto something, my girls LOVE it too.

The jewelry sparkles, the clip-on earrings are so easy to get on and off (I still remember them hurting my ears, but that never stopped me), it’s durable, but above all it is VERY fancy. So of course I went to an antique store and bought some additions for their jewelry box, along with a nesting doll, the whole time I was thinking, I am turning into my mother. They went crazy over both, and they play with their jewelry box all the time. It is fun to watch them bow to each other, and say things like “yes my lady.” So thanks Mom, you chose wisely, and these toys have obviously lasted for a reason.

  1. Funny thing...I was just looking through the old jewelry to see what I should get rid of (send to you girls)! Lily and Ivy are so cute!

  2. Hahah, "Yes my lady"...that's awesome. You know, every time you post pictures I start mentally noting which ones I want to put in the calendar. There are always so many good ones!
