Ballerinas, Belles, and Babies

We had to have our baby laundry bowl pictures!

We have had a lot of excitement since I last posted. We welcomed Rose into our family, and it has been fun, exciting, tiring, and joyful for all of us. She was born on 4-4-2012, she was born in the evening, and was 7lbs 2 oz. She was healthy, and besides the lack of an epidural, it was a great delivery with no complications. We are finally starting to figure three kids out, but that has been difficult with the impending move, packing, school, Tyler’s appendectomy, and house hunting. Rose is beautiful and looks a lot like her sisters. She was very easy going and mellow for the first few weeks, had some stomach issues the next two weeks, but has been happy and smiling the last two weeks. She loves looking at the ceiling fans, lights, her sisters, her aunt Amy, and will smile for just about anything. Rose also loves music and outside, if she is upset, I can count on those two things to calm her down quickly. Lily and Ivy have been taking all of the changes like champs. They call her Rosie Posie, and love to help out. Lily will ”babysit” and just lay by her and talk to her, so that I can do things. The girls actually fight over who gets to throw her diapers away, I know that can’t last, but I am enjoying the help while I have it. I love hearing Ivy call her ”Ose,” because she doesn’t say her R’s, and I love watching Lily give her nose nuzzles. They also love to tell strangers about their new baby sister, they are so proud that they are big sisters, and I am so proud of them.

On a side note, the gilrls have both just finished a weekly class, Lily ballet, and Ivy tumbling. Ivy called it her ”bumbling” class. She learned how to do cartwheels (well a two year old variation of cartwheels), somersaults, crab walking, bear walking, and balancing on a balance beam. She loved it and her teacher often asked her to demonstrate to the other kids the various things they were learning. Lily also liked her ballet class. She learned first, second, and third position. She also learned a fun dance they performed at their end recital. She was a sunbeam, and got to wear a fancy yellow costume. It was our first time doing anything like this, she loved it so much I know it won’t be the last. Ivy was sad that she didn’t get a sunbeam costume, so she wore her Belle dress to the recital, however, she really wanted to get up on the stage and show everyone her crab walk. As we travel and see people this summer, I am sure you can look forward to getting a ”show” from Lily and Ivy of crab walks in a belle dress, and a sunbeam ballet.

My little ballerina.

  1. These pictures are adorable, especially the last two where they are both smiling together.

  2. For some reason babies in laundry are really funny. So I give Rose the best picture award for this post, haha. Also I can't wait to see this crab walk...
